Dr. James Dobson, Focus on the Family

After growing up in Texas, Joe attended college at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas where he won the Heart Award as a two-year starting defensive tackle for the SMU Mustangs. At SMU, Joe also met and married his wife of 45 years, Debbie Jo. After graduation, Joe coached at Texas A&M University before moving to Branson, Missouri to run Kanakuk Kamps with Debbie Jo.

 

Joe has been working with families and teenagers for over 40 years and is has been a speaker to Promise Keepers, Focus on the Family Radio, Life on the Edge Conferences, Major League Baseball, the NFL, and AFTERDARK college crusades across the country. Joe is passionate about sharing the truth of God's amazing grace and he communicates that truth in a very relevant fashion.

 

Joe has also written over 20 books that are designed to reach teens and their families. In 1991, Joe founded Kanakuk Haiti, which funds the operation of 17 schools and 1 orphanage in Haiti. Joe and Kanakuk Haiti provide food and clothing as well as an education for thousands of Haitian children each year.

 

Joe is an amazing husband, proud father of four, a wonderful grandfather of 14, and 1 great-grandchild.

 

Joe White is the President of Kanakuk Ministries and founder of Kids Across America in Branson, Missouri. Each summer, KAA and Kanakuk Kamps host over 20,000 thousand Kampers and families, and higher over 2,000 college and professional staff from around the world.

Kanakuk Kamps is not like typical summer camps. Directed by Joe White, our full-time and summer staff are committed to equipping next generation leaders and providing your child a summer overnight camp experience unlike any other.
